First off make sure you have everything measured out and marked up before you start putting holes in it. You want to use some large washers on the underside of where you fasten it. Just make sure you fasten it tight enough, the wood on ikea stuff isn't solid, its more like coated chipboard so a straight screw through could damage the area around the hole especially if you are mounting heavy equipment on top. If I think on later I shall post some pictures up of my unit when I get home for you to have a look at

didnt IKEA discontinue the CAPITA shelves?
If you use this guide you don't need to attach any bookcases together, just the legs for the shelf

Thanks Wade for this info..The problem I am not very handy at all..Is there anyone on here that can make me one like in the pic of the finished product that Wade posted on here http://www.ikeahackers.net/wp-conten....jpg.........? I am 5 feet 9 inches tall I would want the table to be about tall to my stomach, I don't know if the one on the pic is like that ? Oh and I want to make sure I have room to put 2 Audio Technica LP-1240 Turntables and a Numark M6 Mixer ? Thanks guys
I have a question I am not very handy at all, is there anyone that can build a DJ Table with IKEA parts exactly like this one for me ? dj-desk-no-base.jpg

You can do that by yourself, nobody is going to run to ikea and build it for you. There's more than enough information out there for you to do this by yourself.

I just started with 1 book case & added on some lumber & threaded steel piping from Home Depot
I spent about $150 & built it in an afternoon
I used the previously mentioned link as inspiration for mine. I'm 5'11", and it's 1" taller than the perfect height, so I'm going to get a stress relief mat to elevate me that inch. Measuring well, testing as you go, and tightening everything in phases, rather than attaching each leg and making it tight right way.
