Default I had an idea for a fun challenge

Hey, all! I know I'm new to this group, but I was wondering if you'd be interested in a little musical mixing game. Try to come up with 7 or 8 songs (no more, no less!) for each genre that you think would fit perfectly together. The only rules are they have to be danceable, somewhat recognizable, and appropriate for a mixed wedding crowd. Also, feel free to try your hand at coming up with some sub category lists (80's Alternative, Old School Hip Hop, etc.). Good luck!! The genres are: Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Electronic, Alternative, Country, Funk/Soul.

This sounds like you're trying to get us to do your "homework" for you.

Why don't we make the mix and send it to you?

Default Not sure if homework is the right word

Everyone else has different tastes and if you're playing to a diverse group of people, I thought it would be cool to find out what different dj's thought the "perfect mix" was within a certain set of constraints (the number of songs and specific genre) that might appeal to people with a wide range of tastes, which you inevitably are at a wedding.

It's one of the few instances/events where people are forced to hear us play (meaning they're at the wedding for the couple, not our music) and I thought it would help the dj'ing community as a whole if we, who each have our own individual ideas of what works together, had some other suggestions from the group.

I didn't mean to come across as being shady about it. I'm on the spectrum, and I wasn't sure on how to broach the subject with a bunch of people I didn't know. I can see how cheesy the idea was of trying to turn it into a game/challenge, now.

I actually dig this idea. You should start a youtube channel. Have deejays submit their mini mixes as videos. Should get some pretty cool sets out of it. Let me know when you have the youtube channel started and Ill send over a video! I love doing 80's!

I'm a HUGE 80's fan. Unfortunately, a lot of people want to hear stuff like J Geils Band or Soft Cell, but I prefer my 80's to be more Depeche Mode and Echo & The Bunnymen. Deep Dish has a pretty decent Depeche Mode extended house mix on YouTube, if I recall.
