Personally I like the ATH-M50X which are about the same price if you look around. The headband on the Pro700 is a little tighter, and the bass overpowers a weak midrange. The M50s are a very good true sense of EQ in my opinion. I've heard the build quality on the Pro700 is much stronger, but I've never had any issues with my M50s, except for a cable going bunk after a few years (but those are replaceable on either model now)
