Default Paul Oakenfold announcing to play on Denon SC5000

"We’ll be kicking off the Generation-Tour, where we’ll be celebrating the birth of club culture as it’s known today, which I‘m really looking forward to, where I’ll be incorporating vinyl, going back to the oldschool days of the true art of djing playing vinyl and using Denon‘s new CDJs, which is a great new piece of equipment. So looking forward to that. Do come join us."

That's the way to go Denon, get the big guys involved and let the players convince them. Really hoping they will gain market share, they are doing everything right so far. The prime software is capable of reading serato presets, there could be rekordbox coming up as well. Love to see that after all the dominance of Pioneer's high-end media players, it seems that there is a true competitor on the rise.

This is great news. The Prime kit deserves it's place on the big stage and in clubs.

    Pioneer has work to do.

It's about damn time they get some big names on board. I fear that these days Oaky isn't as big a household name as he once was and not big enough to sway the mainstay of the Pioneer generation.

Moves like this should have been happening back in 2003 IMHO before Pioneer were solidified as the "Standard" and there was still plenty of vinyl DJ's having a hard time transitioning to static jog wheels.

It will be interesting to watch Hakkasan Group's reaction to constantly having to switch out equipment in the booth. j/k

Thats a bit naive to expect. The main reason why SC5000 has a dual core processor inside is to be able to generate Engine metadata on the unit itself - eg not require the licencing for Engine to import Traktor/Rekordbox metadata. The only reason why they did it with Serato is to get a "foot in door" with Serato MCX8000 users.

Exactly what he said. Do as I do, run Rekordbuddy in a VM and convert that way.

Just sayin' ;-) .....oh, and I agree about the naivety. But it would be beneficial if it did read Traktor's and Rekordbox's metadata. They would own the industry inside of a couple years if it did.
