So all in all, do you think it worth getting some kind of interface? And if so what are the differences - I see Rane have 4 models and what about others?

I noticed that the Serato DJ Club Kit is 50% off, which might be an option if you know you will always play out on the DJM-900.

I don't use Serato, but I believe the Denon DS1 is the most affordable interface. The difference between the Rane interfaces is basically how many inputs and outputs each has.

I wont always use cdj900s. Its likely to be those or 2000nx
Is the Dj Club Kit only for djm900?

There is a list of supported mixers on the page I linked to, but the DJM-900 is probably the most commonly found in clubs.

Ive read about the Club Kit and DVS with an Interface and my understanding is theres not much difference? In terms of being able to use a laptop to play out of Serato with the equipment? Is this correct?
