Most impressive IEM's I've tried - and sub $50 !!!

Wrap it in a figure 8 around your index and pinky finger, then use a cable keeper velcro wrap thingie to keep it in place. When you want it, you just hold the earbuds themselves, undo the velcro, drop the cable, and it just falls unwrapped and basically straight with very few kinks.

This works on anything small/short enough to wrap without trapping your fingers.

So, my ZS10s came in today. Along with comply tips.

I'm impressed. They're a little bit lighter than the ZS8 due to the polymer body, which is a welcome change. The clear blue also looks pretty cool.

They came with a braided brown cable, but it doesn't seem to have the same problems as the silver one. They're less prone to thumps and clothing movement for sure.

They're very intimate, very deep, very high, pretty flat, just a touch bright in a good way. There might be a bit of a dip between the midrange and the highs, but the integration of the drivers/armatures and detail is amazing.

I'm tempted to not even say they're good for the price. I've had $200-300 IEMs and headphones that didn't sound this good to my ears. They destroy normal DJ headphones like 7506s and HD25s.

And all of my reference tracks (chosen for specific flaws or details) sound like they should.....the intimate bass and low mids come through on Mazzy Star. The stereo tricks on Mumford & Sons first album show up on the edges. The speaker cone breakup in Billy Joel's the Stranger is easy to detect. The first notes of Massive Attack's Angel thump into your eardrums like they should (most home theater subs can't play the first few notes, certainly not without distorting). Gin Blossoms and Counting Crowes assault your ears with detailed distortion and compression like the loudness war casualties they are, detectable separate from the guitar tones. MP3 and AAC compression is painfully clear.

Good tracks are exciting and intimate, the way IEMs should be. Badly mixed/mastered tracks show their flaws.

And the most interesting thing....i can hear rooms with these. It's most obvious with a few of the independent journalists I follow ON YOUTUBE. Despite the mp3 compression, I can hear air conditioners, computer fans, and room interactions in videos of people talking about news.

A few years ago, I never would have thought this was possible for $50. They might show flaws after the honeymoon is over, but after learning these....I'm pretty sure I could master on them. I'm certain the results would be at least as good as any near fields I've heard, and they're more detailed and have a wider frequency response than the B&Ws in my hifi system. And they're flatter than the room my hifi is in (I need to get around to trying them in my studio).

They might not work for your ears. Sound is very subjective. But, I'm a fan.

So, my ZS10s came in today

I'm still loving the ZS6's ... but need to buy a new cable, cat ate the stock one

Its as good an excuse as any to upgrade the headphones though..... right ...... right ?

I absolutely LOVE my ZS6s. Today though, I took the upgrade" cable off and will leave it off. I'm certain the stock cable sounds better.

It does. I've never really believed in cable tone at those electrical levels before, but it's no more subtle than guitar cables.
