What factor carries the most weight?

Playing whatever music is acceptable or preferred by the people that are judging it.
These comps are hardly an open playing field. It comes down to whatever Beatport is pushing at the moment.

If a scratch DJ wins this ill eat my decks.

Dont get me wrong this is a great opportunity for someone. Really great.
You will have to be very good to win. Of that ive got no doubt.

But this is the X-Factor of DJing.
Lets face its DJs can be a bunch of arsey bastards, especially in the house music scene.
The winner is just gonna be "That guy that won a competition".
Not really gonna win you much respect with the sour faced bastards that fill the industry.

Would i enter ? Certainly not, just not my scene.

looks cool, reality tv for djs. not a stab at the competition, just looks a bit like project runway.
i'm sure that whoever wins this will have some good opportunities, just like dj craze, a-track, ect had after winning competitions.

Sounds really really good, thats a very interesting announcement !

But in general I dont like such competitions, cause djing isnt a competitive thing at all. Its all about sharing your passion and love for the music with your audience. If you love what you do and work hard for it, your audiance will recognize it and have a good time.

I agree but i think this is also a way of sharing your passion and so on for the music. Also a good way of moving forward within the buisness
