    Default iTunes & Serato???

So it looks like I’m getting either an S9 or a Rane 72...

This means switching from Traktor to Serato... (Gasp!)

So I’ve got a tight system with iTunes, MP3Tag & Traktor for my SmartPlaylists. The integration works perfectly.

Can any tell me how Serato deals with metadata? Are there any tags that are separate to what MP3Tag and iTunes can “see”?

For example - Traktor has a Comments2 tag that can’t be seen in iTunes - has Serato got anything similar.

    Not sure.....

Serato is available to download & install, & then run without a controller though. So you could check this yourself.

Serato doesn't have Comments2, from what I know. You could always use the S9 with Traktor Pro 3 :P

Just had a bit of a click around...

Don’t think much of the Serato browser (so far).

    More experimenting to be done.

Definitely leaning towards making a mapping for Traktor...

catherine16 thanks for chiming in. Please PM me!!!

I am having ZERO luck getting iTunes to show up in Serato. I've tried renamimg the iTunes Library.xml to iTunes Music Library.xml, and still nothing... I've tried everything on the Serato Site, and tried a couple of fixes I found on youtube, but, so far, nothing...

Why, lord, does Serato not allow you to specify your iTunes library location like Traktor does? I understand if Serato is keeping it simple by using the default iTunes location for the .xml, but it looks like the versions I'm using (iTunes 12.9.3.3, and Serato Pro 2.1.1 (Demo)) aren't playing nice together...

I was going to mention making sure your iTunes library is in the default location, but you've already got that covered.

    Obvious questions.....
In iTunes pref's, have you got "share iTunes library XML" ticked?
In serato pref's, have you got "show iTunes library" ticked?
    Cheers
