I love the project and it got me thinking, how does my s2mk3 look inside?
Turns out it has a somewhat modular design, but I did not find a pic of the s4's internals for comparison.

Maybe it would be possible too?

That's super cool, thanks for sharing the pics! I currently do not have a super clear pic of the S4's guts but this one should be just clear enough:



The board placed next to the S4 is normally mounted at the top of the unit and has all the processing units and connectors on it.

Forgot to post this vid here but the units are pretty much completely finished right now. Currently, I'm mainly looking into a way to cleanly cover up the IO holes in the front/back end of the unit, I'm thinking of 3D printing some sort of thin faceplate that fills these holes but not certain yet how I'd give it the "native" look.

i started a similar project some time ago.

On this video you can see the LED DIM code i had made to use on my S4.


This cdj use shift registers too.

If you interested i can share the code i used to control the LED Bright

You can easily adapt to teensy.
