    Default Club Mixer Recommendations

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum so thought i would firstly introduce myself. Go by the name DJ Ratus, been DJing for 20+ years. Consider myself to be an open format 'urban' (hate the term) DJ. It's been a long time since i've been a member of any forum online but thought it would be good to have somewhere to come to for discussion advice etc. always read DJTT forums as a visitor but never signed up!

My main residency has asked me for recommendations for new mixer this week. Currently have a battered DJM700 with a snapped fader

I've recommended a DJM-S9 as i am an avid Serato user and all other DJ's that play at the club are as well. Obvious industry standard is a 900NXS2 but i don't see the need for a 4 channel mixer in this scenario.

Basically i'm looking for any pitfalls the S9 may have in being a staple in club DJ booth?

The S9 is a fantastic scratch mixer, but any DJs that need more than two decks or bring any other piece of equipment into the booth will have a hard time hooking up. It is also a very unfamiliar layout to the bulk of Deejays. You are better off going with a DJM 900NXS, DJM750 MKS (if youre on a budget, or a Denon x1850.

S9 seriously seems to be ticking all of the boxes for me. Every DJ that frequents the venue plays on Serato.
Can't help but this that 900 would be overkill. I've played at this club 15 years and never have i or anyone else used more than two channels.

£300 saving for the club from the price difference would always be welcomed as well.
Wouldn't recommend anything other than Pioneer gear for any club, not used any of the new Denon stuff either.
