Default What's the most useful way to comment midi-commands?

    Hello everybody.
I´m mapping my VCI400EGE. As the midi mapping grows, I´m unhappy with my comments in the TSI-files.

I would like to make consistent comments in my mapping, so I and everybody else can find every midi-command quickly by sorting the command´s comments.

    For example:
Some midi of my commands are just labeled "JogTouch Deck A".
Some comments are "JogFX L Bank1 DeckC Preset1 JogTurn D/W".

Do you have a special commenting order?
Like: "DeckA | Play Button (Buttonx) | hold |" OR "PlayButton A| hold|"

I haven't found the best solution to order my midi-commands yet. So what are your thoughts on this?

I have thought about this - but the conclusion I came to was that most of the useful information is available outside of the Comments field.

One thing I did do, was to make sure I label consistently. Some times I used DeckA, sometimes Deck A, sometimes (Deck A)... So that had to get fixed.

Luckily, the latest version of CMDR has got a find/replace function that will do this.

I’ll watch this thread with interest...

This was REALLY easy to implement. My problems are by far in WPF stuff for the GUI.
If you have more ideas like this please mention.

Please see example page #3 of this TSI.

I tend to use comments to alphabetically group all commands necessary to build a single function
in the end of the comment I put the deck, and then the pad number

Then I copy paste these to the other channels, and rename the whole copy to the deck without the pad number
I always do deck B first because the controller is in my left side.

    example:
    PAD BEATJUMP B - pad1
    PAD BEATJUMP B - pad2
    PAD BEATJUMP A
    PAD BEATJUMP A
    PAD BEATJUMP C
    PAD BEATJUMP C
    ....

    HOWEVER

In CMDR I've now fixed a lot of bugs to the quick-filters
and now have auto-generation of 32x commands

So I believe i will stop doing these comments and just use the filters and regenerate the other channels on the fly
something to test once I finnally stop doing CMDR and go back to mapping the 1000
