Question "No Midifighter detected" flashing in the MF utility

Hi. I bought a second-hand MF 3D, and it’s detected and works just fine in Ableton Live, but when I open the MF utility app to configure it, the app just keeps flashing between the MF 3D configuration screen and a screen that says "No Midifighter detected". Has anyone else experienced and found a solution to this? I’ve tried to change both cables and ports on my PC, but the same thing happens all the time.

Here's a gif showing what the app screen looks like: https://gifyu.com/image/15BA

And I actually have time to click the "update firmware" button when the configuration screen flashes, but I'm thinking trying this is a bad idea...

Ah, I actually had to unplug all my other midi and audio gear in order to get this working. I'd forgotten to think about the audio interface - unplugging it did the trick
