Default Compress the Master Mixer of the omnitronic trm-202 mk3

Hi, I'm looking for a compressor to put on the master of my DJ mixer an omnitronic trm-202 mk3 and I had thought of something like https://reverb.com/p/dbx-266xl-stere...-slash-limiter. I like the idea, but I'm wondering if it's worth it and if it makes sense to go further on something more serious like opto compressor, other valves. Alternatively, I was thinking that I could send the signal to my MacBook pro and process it in real-time with some VST e.g. https://www.waves.com/plugins/ssl-g-...uss-compressor but I don't know which VST host to use for this real-time compression. Obviously, I would like to hear the compressed signal from the master so I would no longer use the dedicated output for recording, but would record the signal directly from the master. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
