New Traktor 3.6 Beta just announced. What do you feel about the subscription model that NI has decided to switch to? ... LINK
Dear Traktorists,
Today we’re excited to share the news that we’ve reached a very important milestone for both the TRAKTOR team and for you, our valued TRAKTOR community. Introducing beta 3.6.0.316: the TRAKTOR PRO Plus add-on subscription, which gives you access to selected new features in your TRAKTOR PRO 3 base version.
In launching the additional TRAKTOR PRO Plus tier, we will be able to release new features more frequently, rather than holding back until the next major version is released. These features will not be mandatory for base functionality, but are intended to improve sound and performance by utilizing the innovative technologies found across the brands of Soundwide, (which also includes iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx). Our hope is that this will enable you to enjoy more immediate access to our ongoing developments at TRAKTOR, thereby providing new instances for creative inspiration on a regular basis.
We would like to make one thing clear from the start - TRAKTOR isn’t planning to abandon the regular perpetual licenses as you know them. If you’re not interested in subscribing, you can continue using your current TRAKTOR PRO 3 base version you received with the hardware you originally purchased. Going forward, you’ll continue to receive regular maintenance and bugfix updates until the next major release, just as we’ve done for the past 20 years.
By subscribing for €4.99/month or €49/year, you will receive access to a set of features that go beyond the current stand-alone TRAKTOR offering. In order to subscribe, you must own a TRAKTOR PRO 3 license, which ensures that if you pause or cancel the subscription, you can continue DJing with your preferred hardware.
We will grant 6 months of free TRAKTOR PRO Plus access to every user that signs up during the first two weeks of the beta phase. All users can cancel their subscription at any time. Thereafter the subscription will revert to a regular monthly payment.
The first public release of TRAKTOR PRO Plus will feature the Ozone Maximizer, which you are likely already familiar with, and the brand new Pattern Player. A beta of Pattern Player will be released in the coming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out.
Test Focus:
The test focus of this beta (3.6.0.316) is the subscription technology itself, alongside a few bug fixes. The new Ozone Maximizer feature is only enabled for subscribed users, so that we can test the enabling/disabling mechanism for the Plus features.
In order to test the subscription service and get access to the Maximizer and upcoming features, you need to follow the subscription user journey that starts at the brand new TRAKTOR PRO Plus landing page - from there, you will be guided through the process. If you encounter hurdles and unexpected behavior, please also file this as an issue by logging it in TRAKTOR Beta Bugs.
If you’ve decided against trying the TRAKTOR PRO Plus subscription, you can still contribute to this beta test by testing the base functionality and verifying the bug and compatibility fixes we added along the way.
In order to address any questions you may have we’ve compiled an FAQ, linked here.

Testing Safely:
Despite extensive internal testing, we recommend a cautious approach at first, as your specific setup and workflow may trigger new issues. We advise you to do a collection backup and to be mindful when playing out in public, as we have touched and modified many areas of the code.
Community guidelines:
If you are new to the Public Beta Area, please read our community code of conduct first. You can also find more information about this area here.
Filing Beta Bugs:
As usual, when filing a bug, please:
Check if you are using the latest beta version.
Check if the issue is already listed in the “known issues” section.
Try to reproduce the bug first in the current version (3.5.3).
Describe your setup and the circumstances of the issue as precisely as possible.
You can use the NI Support Tool to collect all relevant information about your system and attach it to your bug report.
Happy testing! We look forward to your feedback.
