Default How to free up spin on MFT encoder shafts?

I'm modifying my MFT's with an alternative cap type that needs less turning force than the standard MFT configuration. (fingertip instead of index/thumb gripping)

Is there anything I can spray into the encoders that will reduce the rotary friction? Electrical contact cleaner used to do the trick for linear potentiometers on a mixer.

I realize that it will be a one-way trip for the friction, but I need them to be a good deal looser than factory-supplied.

    Thanks for any insights.

Definitely not contact cleaner. Tested one encoder, the same friction for a day, the day afterward, and ongoing, the friction has doubled.
