Pioneer XDJ-XZ or Denon DJ Prime 4+ in 2024?
Hello, I need some advice on purchasing DJ equipment. I am considering buying the Pioneer XDJ-XZ standalone unit. As an alternative, I am also looking at the Denon DJ Prime 4+. I have mostly used Pioneer DJ equipment in the past, with a few devices from Native Instruments. This is why I am primarily considering the XDJ-XZ. Is the XDJ-XZ still up-to-date, and do all the features from Rekordbox Export work on it? For example, features like auto loop (cue banks), and can I use Tidal and other streaming services when connected to a Rekordbox PC? Another reason I lean towards the XDJ-XZ is the large Pioneer jog wheels, which I am accustomed to. The device will mainly be used in the studio or at home and won’t be transported much.
I like that the Denon can use all four channels without a PC, has a large display, and allows you to install an SSD with Engine DJ playlists. However, I have never used a Denon device before and am unsure how it would be to work with. The only thing I might not like is the smaller jog wheels. Could you please share your advice and experiences, and in your opinion, which would be the better purchase?
