Hairline cracks in back panel of Midi Fighter Twister
Hello! I've had my MIDI Fighter Twister for over four years and it's seen a fair bit of use. It's still perfectly functional but strangely has begun to develop hairline cracks on the base plate/back panel over the past year or so. They all appear to be relatively central along each side of the back panel and begin at the edge and extend round the angle and down the slope towards the central circle/logo. I coated the first of these with epoxy resin last year in the hope of stopping further damage but the unit has since developed more and some have also cracked back through the epoxy. The cracks are very fine so there is no way to get epoxy/superglue into the cracks themselves. As previously mentioned, my unit otherwise works perfectly well so there's not need to replace it. I've been in touch with DJTT about potentially getting a new back panel as a spare part, but they are unfortunately back-ordered with new units and don't have anything available. This video (https://youtu.be/7yUgM8kgkeE?si=R9RLUuXoTL0xrKcz) shows that the interior of the back panel is actually quite complex, but I was wondering if anybody else has experience the same issue and perhaps been able to manufacture a makeshift back panel themselves? I was considering trying to enlist someone to machine a basic flat panel with the same dimensions, thickness, and holes for screws, or perhaps make one out of wood, but I'm not sure this is the best option. Any help/advice would be very much appreciated!
