1.4 FW hi-res vs. S2 hi-res?

Hey sorry if this is a dumb question. Having trouble finding an answer.

Does the 1.4 firmware for the VCI 100 provide the same high resolution on the jog wheels as the HID hi-res support on the S2? Just saw the latest DJTT post and want to try that application on my VCI with 1.4.

I think the S2 is better because it’s a native language talking to the controller, not necessarily because it’s a higher resolution. I’m not 100% sure on that though.

Regular midi has 128 steps, VCI 1.4 has x4 that (Brand New VCI-100 Firmware - DJ TechTools). NHL allows x30 that.

If you already own the VCI, I think the 1.4 will do the job well enough.
