2-Channel Mixer Suggestions
Currently, I’m working with 2 CDJ 900s and a DJM 350. I don’t use DJing software, so I like the fact that I can record with the mixer. However, I think it’s time to find something new. I thought about a DJM 800, but I don’t need 4 channels. I’m a simple dude. So I’d like a 2 channel mixer with nice filters, preferably. So far, I’ve come across a DJM 250, Xone 22, and Xone 32. What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance.
I would personally go with the DJM 250 as I’ve heard that Xone 22’s have a click sound when you turn the filter on, PLUS you don’t get a per channel filter like you do on the DJM.
However, the DJM doesn’t have monitor or record outputs. So you would always have to be careful about redlining your mix when recording from the ‘master 2’ output as there is no separate volume control for that, but you could just use a big knob for that.
The DJM also doesn’t have any send/returns like the Xone, but that not may be an issue to you if you’re not bothered about external effects.
If it was my choice, I’d go for the DJM 400. But that has no manual filter. Just a sort of automated one.

I bought a used Xone:22 not too long ago and have been loving it. The filter and eq shape are both great. Haven’t used the DJM 250 but if you got the A&H, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
DJM 909. tons of effects, and battle tested for years by DJ’s that are arguably the hardest on their mixers; turntablists. Don’t think you can buy them new though, mmaybe I’m wrong
+1 to the DJM 909. Although I’ve been searching for a while now and yet to find a decent deal on one that isn’t beaten to all hell (cosmetically of course) They are well built.
Does the 909 have a filter?
Z2? you’ll be able to use traktor scratch pro and it functions as a standalone mixer as well.
If you are really looking for a great 2 channel mixer… but you have to have filters? It’s probably going to be the DJM-909.
I swear by Rane mixers otherwise however, and you can always get a secondary FX unit to control the stuff (and many of those you can bring with you to clubs and hook in as well).
I’m getting to the point now where at home, the 2 channel Rane is alright, but I could see the use of having a 4-channel mixer or having on-board FX and filters being very nice. It’s something that if you think about it, it may be more worth your while to just get a 4 channel mixer for the long run, always can rent it out if needed as well.

True, but it has kind of automated filter-options. It’s not the same way you use a filter on a djm800.
But what a great mixer!!! I still love it !!
Might just go with the 909.
