2nd macbook advice?

2nd macbook advice?

Ok looking to buy a 2nd hand macbook
really cant afford a brand new macbook pro with moving and everything at the moment but really want to get in to the mac side of things+my windows laptop is working like a horse for djing and normal use

so i see u can pick up old macbooks pretty cheap, genrealy the batterys dont hold witch of course i would replace just wondering what i should look out for

in terms of ram,os etc…looking to run traktor pro and live 8

any macbook with over 2ghz c2d with min of 2gb ram should be fine.

is it easy to update ram and hardrives on macs?
i build pc’s myself but have never gone in to the world of macs

Its so easy even i have done it . Especially RAM. HD are easier on later Macs. Harder on PPC Macs but i guess your looking at new Intels.

If you have made PCs you will have no problems.

This resource is excellent for all Macs. Tells you exactly what the specs are of every machine and whether the parts are user or Apple replaceable. Its a UK site but Macs are Macs all over the place i guess. Worth a look.

well its a good job i am from the uk :stuck_out_tongue:
cheers for the info guys

I’ve managed to change my iMac hard drive. Anything is possible

LOL i forgot your only 10 miles up the road from me !!!

wait…UK uses ‘miles’? lol

Er… yeah we kinda invented the Imperial Measurement system and the Metric System, they are both ours… but you guys can use them , its cool.

We use metric now but still use Miles not KM for distance. Odd.

That’s messed up.

I’m a bit of a mac medic and end up fixing all my Mates stuff, plus am 4 miles up from karlos.
Ram easy, hdd, easy, in fact most stuff is easy. I picked up a black 2.4ghz c2d mb around 9 months old up for a pal or £410 on eBay
