2x4 Set up for beginners

Not sure if this is the correct thread please feel free to move this or advise me of any issues in my posting,
I am fairly new to djing, and currently own a numark idj pro using an ipad as a mixer (the app i currently use is DJ Player). I am looking to create a set up for a duo, with myself taking the lead, (spinning electro and trap type instrumentals) and my partner spinning transition tracks and hip hop accapellas. I was looking to do a 2x4 type set up with him using his mixtrack pro and myself using the idj pro with a homebrew ipad to usb Mac adapter and the ipad itself running touchOSC as an alternate midi controller. I know this might sound goofy for a beginner but I was wondering what software would be best for a 4 deck set up for a set of newbies? From what I understand Serato doesnt support custom midi mappings so would Traktor be our best bet? Or what advice might you guys have for learning to dj as a duo?
