There’s something that bothers me about people referring to 808 sub kicks as “808s”, as if that sound alone is the definition of an 808.

To my knowledge he is only hired as DJ because of his productions and the fame that comes with them (like guetta, martin garrix etc.)
It’s a tutorial about achieving a good 808 yet all he does it take a sample, turn up the volume, boost some of the most epic frequencies imaginable and not make much sense in the process.
This is how you make it big boys
step 1: find sample
step 2: turn a knob
step 3: ???
step 4: profit

I agree, to some extent, with this guy’s take on it. If what Carnage does works for him, that’s all good, I don’t really care about that. My impression was that this is a tutorial.. A really bad one.
Dumb video. The guy is right to an extent when it comes to the technicalities like clipping, etc, but Carnage doesn’t handle his music from start to finish. He was already called out for using KSHMR as a ghost producer. I can also put any amount of money down to wager that he does not do the mixing/mastering of his songs either.
Who cares? He sells his show to people that don’t care about if he produces his sh*t or not. He basicly does what you have to do to be a famous EDM DJ. You can’t blame him for not being something that he is not supposed to be. EDM is pure marketing, brands, shouts, who cares’ and YOLOs, it is completely normal that the stars of that particular sphere be exacly like that.
Is he making money? Not of my bussiness.
What are you going on about here? We’re discussing the poor quality of this “tutorial” video.. Not his entire career and genres of music he produces. Razer has been putting out producer specific videos and they were all pretty decent until this one. That’s the topic at hand.

You have a strange way of getting your point across then with that YOLO/EDM rant that I could barely make any sense of. None of which has anything to do with how bad the tutorial was. Sure it’s “marketing/yoloswag” or whatever the hell you said, but this isn’t helping anyone in the studio, which is what it’s advertised to do. It could have been Ritchie Hawtin in his place saying the same shit and it would still be a shit video all around.
