Ableton Mapping

I need a little help on this ableton setup I want..

I have a hercules RMX and would like to map a button to the on/off switch of an effect in ableton, easy enough but I would like to have the effect only on when the button is held down.

Could anyone point me in the right direction here, I have tried searching the internet with no luck on this one.

Youll need to search for the hercules and to see if you can edit how it outputs data, you’ll want a momentary cc rather than midi note…

Its not something you can choose how the button behaves within Ableton…

Thanks S4racen I will look into that, its too bad ableton cant control something like that..
