Ableton multi messages from one button (without bomes)
While putting together my own DJ template I did keep coming up against the brick wall of “Must use Mouse” even for some of the simplest tasks in Ableton.
Coupled alongside the likes of needing to reset certain functions every time using the mouse if I wanted a quick change.
For Example I want my tracks to be triggered with quantize @ “none” BUT I want my samples to be recorded with a Quantize of 1/2
Now the two ways of doing it looks to be Use a mouse to set the quantize OR use a controller to set the quantize (waste really!) AND then need to remember to set it back when I want to trigger without the quantize again. Simple stuff but royal pain in the butt.
Now I’m 99% sure that bomes would do the trick here (and more) but it is expensive and went hunting for other (free) options, and found Midistroke which allows midi commands to double as keystrokes.
