Acapella’s and Instrumentals

Hi all, was wondering where would be the best place to find Acapella’s and Instrumental pieces? I’ve checked some free sites out but they limit you to a certain amount in a month. I’m after pieces popular music I guess, I’ve checked out some of the Acapella’s on Beatport and they’re cool, but I wanna mess around with something more mainstream to mix with.

Hope this makes sense!

Cheers .

i know this is going to sound wayyy too nooby, but what exactly term “Acapella” stands for? Not even wikipedia helped, and google is sketchy at best with results…

An Acapella is a vocal only track.

I think it’s spelled A cappella. That’s why wiki gave you nothing.

True that Foreverhex, I am not even going into ’ and `and ^ placing.

Lol, silly English speakers screwing up Italian. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s common to write it all as one word in English… at least that’s what produces the most results when I search for them.

Stick to the question people!

Whenever i am looking for a song ill search for both acapella and capella for the most results. Your right though Acapella does turn up more results.

Promo Only Urban Club cd’s usually have acapellas and instrumentals on disk 2

I wish someone would post me constant streams of acapellas - trying to find decent acapellas on the net is a challenge and a half.

I’ve actually had some success at making my own. My roommate, Dyloot, was looking for an Cold Play accapella of Fix You forever. I ended up using a VST and some filtering in Sound Forge and it came out pretty good. I have the VST somewhere… I think this was right before I smashed my computer, so I don’t know what the VST is right now. I’ll have to look at my backup drive.

http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/ here you are bentosan u can get some of them free if you register

Yeah I checked out acapellas4u, got a few off there - They were pretty good, just don’t like the download limit! Cheers though, I didn’t know about the whole “A Capella” thing

I love buying 5.1 disks so I can strip out the vox. Any band I use in my sets that makes a disk in 5.1 I buy immediately.

i never understood what 5.1 meant as far as cds go…

It isolates certain parts of the track to 6 different channels. (5.1 channels, get it?)

One of those channels is almost ALWAYS vox at front and center. Meaning you’ve got a super clean separated vox channel to strip audio from to make a cappella!!

Edit: (First!)

5.1 Disc is 6 channels of audio, usually the center channel carries a almost perfect acapella. These disc are really handy when you want to remix something and you dont have the parts to the song.

heh, sry for the solid hijack!

The problem is the ammount that you can get from there at one time - its alright if your hunting down something specific but thats about it.

As for ripping from a 5.1 channel dvd, thats a really good idea
