First u have to load the presets 1-4 in your LPD8 Editor (make sure traktor is closed or this wont work)

Then load the tsi file in Traktors controller manager

then ENJOY

This sounds like exactly what Ive been looking for/too lazy to do myself, will try it when I get home

haha let me know how it goes

Is it possible to change between programs on the fly or does this mess up the mapping ?

U can change program on the fly, that’s what makes with tiny looking program highly versatile 8 pads+8knobs makes 842(cc or pad)=64 pads + 8*4=32 faders… The things you have to know about program changes are :

  • you have to press : 1 chg prog buton 2 the button linked to the program you want to use 3 pad button or CC button to switch in pad mode or CC mode… (no default mode… that’s sad and might have made this controler a killer controler if there was a default mode…) and then, the program change is fully effective. It makes you press three buttons in a row to switch program… It might be long, but you can easily get use to it…
  • during this process, the knobs can be used at step 2. You don’t need to finalise it. It’s a trick every ldp8 must know!
  • there’s a knob issue with soft takeover (when you switch the program, the knobs and pad are affectted to a new midi channel, so the midi state on the previous midi channel doesn’t change, wich makes the soft takeover irrelevant : when you turn back in another program, the knob physic position has changed but his Midi state hasn’t change at all…It’s not like a modifier…)

Hope it answers your questions…

@Jon E : How are your knobs programmed? are they on direct or relative mode?

OMG thank you SO much!

P.S. That must have taken work and I really appriciate it bro

Good Mapping..really useful..thx you for your time..

Here’s a new upload on different server. Hope it stays online for a while now.
What concerns the filesize, don’t be fooled what it says. They are indeed small files (< 1kB).

Top man. Thanks for going to the trouble.

im making my own mapping of the lpd8 and right now i have it where when in pad mode t plays hot cues 1-8 and when on cc pads 1-4 play/pause decks A-D now im trying to get it where when you press program that the pads 1-4 controll which deck that the hot cues are gunna play from can anybody help me out?

@Ragehappy, sounds like you need a macro, 1 control, multiple signals/actions. See manual. Basically you just map everything to one knob or button, however I dont thing your sending while in program select mode. i.e. you have to select program before you can send first signal like deck focus and hot cue 1. Sure that would be sweet if deck focus could be linked to program select on the Akai in one gesture. I’ve never tried it. Maybe you would need to configure a signal to send while in program select mode, to do that I suppose maybe you would need Akai software or some kinda programming guru. I suspect the module was underdesigned in this aspect and that this will not be possible. try emailing Akai. Also I’ve read somewhere that you can get MIDI monitering software?? So maybe if you download that you could capture the signal, if any and details about which MIDI note this is. Just a thought.
