IMHO if you aren’t already using HD25’s for producing these should be definitely on your shopping list.

Okay - that’s a pretty good damn deal. You yanks have got it good.
Word on the street is that they are TIGHT though.
Like, vice grip tight. We’re talking Joe Pesci putting somebody’s head in a vice in Casino tight.
Nah they aren’t THAT tight*, the hd25 was a tighter fit, as were all the AKG’s, and lots of others I could mention..
I’ve have V6’s for 14 years (same headphone) which have just about kicked the bucket and came across them on Amazon having just bought an almost brand new pair of Marshall Majors, which sounded decent in the shop but after a few days tried the Trusty V6’s again andespecially are now kicking myself HARD…the clarity in frequency separation is just unreal in comparison, especially in more “complex” tracks.
The V6/7506 is a bloody amazing headphone for the money everything else I tried in the same price bracket (sub $180) Vmoda/Tma/Audio Technica etc just sounded “muddy” in comparison or felt about to break already.
Trying to see if I can organize shipping over now is another thing :-S if I can’t I might just buy a really good class A fake pair of 7506’s for $20 and transplant my drivers into them.
*Give or take 5 years ![]()
My 10 year old V700’s STILL sound amazing.
If I EVER find a comfy (I got a big heed) pair of cheap HP’s I’ll definitely be doing a transplant.
You could always go this route?
I have the opposite problem with cans, my head is too small to be comfortable with many of the “regular” headphones out there, Normal TMA’s felt like I was wearing a saggy DDD padded bra on my skull and the TMA Studios felt like my head had been engulfed by two empty bean cans. ![]()
The V700’s are great bloody headphones for gigging with, just too darn heavy (in weight and bass) for home use, and the hinges are just plain bad design IMHO.
Just a note to the non believers, I have owned a pair of 7506 headphones for 20 years and they are still going strong. My son actually stood on the headband part when he was 1 and stretched them flat. They snapped right back into action. Great deal!
1000% believe that both the V6 and 7506 are the single most robust headphones on the market bar none … lots of people make a point that with sennheiser headphones everything is replaceable from the cables to the drivers to the headbands… The fact is that with the sony’s you will probably NEVER need to replace anything with the exception of the pads in their entire lifetime…
I’ve really beaten mine almost to the point of non-recognition, but everything still works on them. Whoever designed the hinges and cables deserves a nobel prize IMHO as its normally the first things to go on almost every other headphone out there.
Well that sealed it. That last picture just told me I had to buy em, and I just did. Adding another pair of headphones to the collection ![]()
i’ve broken so many hinges on those headphones… maybe you guys take better care of your headphones then I do, but my hinge busted on those so hard.
Nothing is oaf-proof,mate…

true. haha. Too many drunken parties. Although the hdj-2000’s have been bomb proof for me so far, going 3 years on those and not a scratch. But for 77 bucks the sony’s are money.
Always liked the Sony cans (especially the 700’s), but the coating on the ear pads always wears away or cracks for me. Are they using fabric now?
You can always replace the pads. I purchased some really nice velour ones. Not so great for sweaty djing but nice for chilling at home. Replacement pads range from 5$ - 20$ and are easily found on the interwebs.
No still using the same stuff AFAIK … you can get real sheepskin leather pads for about $20 though which are supposedly the bomb.
How does this compare to the Pioneer HDJ-1500s? I’ve got a pair but if they are on par or superior I am always looking to get a back up pair.
Cant compare a porsche to a landrover - different beasts.
