Deejanes? Come on, you can find a less cheesy way to put it, female DJs are deejays just as much as men are, now you’re being sexist. ![]()
“deejane” love it.. Keep it greasy!
We’ve had a few floating around over the time I’ve been here. Monika is the only one that has really stuck around, I believe.
Dunno how it is in the USA but in Germany we call them deejanes, maybe because there are just a few, to give them more attention ![]()
More girls should start deejaying, its the best way to conquer a boys heart, everybody knows ![]()
lol ![]()
I’ve got a couple of girl dj friends, but none on this forum haha.
I think its funny that you are a “deejane” and your name on the site is gameBOY LOL ![]()
I would like to see more deejanes out there.
i broke all of their hearts with my handsome looks, posting on here gives them too much hurt now.
sorry guys my bad
There’s a stronger distinction between male/female in the german language. We say “der DJ”, which is masculine. So somebody in the 90s came up with “DJane” to emphasize a DJ’s femaleness.
I hate this term but most “DJanes” seem to embrace it.
I’m gonna call myself TraktorTarzan from now on.
Re: Any Deejanes Out Here ???
Monika is also a mod on these forums, we definitely need to see more female djs. Not just on djtt but also in clubs, the whole boys club thing is a bit rediculous in my opinion!
In the scene I run in there are, like, two female DJs that are worth their salt.
Then again, there are, like, 5 or 6 male DJs that are worth it. Out of a LOT more than 5 or 6.
rofl!!! you speek z truth dvls. In my scene (cant wait till Dvls and are in the same scene) we have Jen Mas (very popular, decent DJ), and frankly I think shes the only one that comes to mind readily. Ive seen some chicks “attempt” to DJ and they seem to rely on being a chick to be successful. Alot of girls seem to show initial interest, but after seeing the effort required to excel and the political circle jerk of getting booked, making shit money to open to an empty club, they become disheartend. I cant blame em per say.
for some reason the deep house/tech scene has quite a few highly respected female djs - monika kruse, tana sumo, cassy, ellen allien and anja schneider are just a few that spring to mind.
I have seen many female djs on myspace calling themselves djanes, and yes I think it is cheesy as heck. It’s kind of used in the way that female who play videogames (girl gamers) act like the fact that they are a girl makes it more special than it was before.
ack. hate “djane” but, yes. i am one. (just starting though, more production focused.)
This isn’t funny at all because I am a boy ! ![]()
Im just interested because I think it would be better for the dj scene to have more women, bringing their own understanding of mixing and stuff …
thought we had out own lady gaga type controversy for a second ![]()
my girlfriend and i dj together =D
you in the NYC area… check out a dj named Dani Lehman, She is a friend of mine, and she is an excellent techno DJ.
