Any Tips and Advice to get into Making Your own Tracks?

I couldn’t find any threads on this..there may be a lot, I would assume so..

But would anyone help me by giving me some advice and the right direction to go in if I want to start making my own tracks. I have FL Studio 10: Producer Edition and have been watching tutorials like crazy. Is this the right program to be looking in?

Eventually I want to make my own tracks and mix them as well as make remixes, instead of just playing/mixing the top house/trance/whatever songs of today.

Thank you!

Someone has gotta have some valuable information for me to get me starting in producing ..

sorry for the early bump!

Dunno where you are from, but there is an institute in Liverpool called SAE that give you courses on electronic music production. I haven’t attended myself though, I’m already in university all week and work on the weekends, so I don’t get much free time, but it’s supposed to be good.

Any DAW that fits your workflow is the proper program, there are not right or wrongs here. I have a “non academic” approach on learning to write songs. Basically read some music theory to get your basics and then just play with the program, either by trying to replicate a song you like or just building things from scratch.

This will also come in handy when you get stuck

How i got in to it

-Got ableton
-spent 3 year dicking around until the program made sense and my music sounded professional.

The ENTIRE story.

This. Just start.

I didn’t know if I was using the right kind of software or not. Tha0nk you

Wow…I completely missed that.
