Any way to help me stop bouncing around while djing

I practiced djing standing up yesterday for the first time and I bounce around so much. I just get so into the music that I want to dance. Any ideas to help me not do that? I feel like it looks bad and I look like an idiot while I do it.

:open_mouth:hmy:

We all do. It helps you get into it, don’t feel self conscious!

Hahahahahahaha thats a good sign!

How long have you been sit down mixing for?

Why would you want to not dance while DJing? I actually once managed to dance a pit of like 15cm depth into the dusty ground while spinning at an open air party

You’re doing it right.

Lol, is this a troll?

You should use ankle and wrist weights. It might deter you from bouncing and if not, you’ll be getting a work out too.

One of these might work

I actually dont understand DJs that don’t dance…

If you playing 110bpm chillout lounge stuff you should not be bouncing so much but you must, at least, show that you are liking your music.

The hump/bounce makes up 99% of my dancing.

This, and I’ve been sit down DJing for like 3 months now. I finally got a PA system and I’m using the box as a stand lol.

Play more classical.

?

If you turn the output gain to zero, you should find the urge to bop is somewhat diminished

These guys are doing it right.

A nail through each foot. Can’t nail your hands for obvious reasons.
