Anybody know of a converter that converts WAV to 320 MP3?

Heyo,

Simple question really, anybody know a converter that does this? I started uploading my mixes to soundcloud a couple months ago, and I just use audacity to convert to mp3 or ogg from my WAV file from traktor. However, the mp3 is in 128 and the ogg sounds the same…in other words it sounds like crap on these hd25s. Thankfully most of the people who listen to my stuff probably have average headphones and can barely notice but a couple people have mentioned if I could up the quality a bit, and I completely agree with them. Of course I can’t just upload 1-2 hour mixes in WAV format on soundcloud, not only would it take an entire day but also nobody would have the patience to download my sets.

So now I am looking for a converter program that will take me WAV files and convert them to beautiful 320 mp3, however I can’t seem to find one. Anybody know of one/use one? I am very grateful of your responses guys, I probably wouldn’t be DJing without this forum.

Audacity is your friend - in the latest version when you export your .wav file there is an ‘options’ button on the save file dialog. Select .mp3 as the file type and then this ‘options’ button allows you to up the bitrate to 320kbps

Itunes

Only converts to aac doesn’t it?

Itunes is the easiest way. Go to the preferences and under import options you can choose 320kbps mp3.

You learn something every day …

Oh my, that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Was about to lay down some cash to get something to do this. THANK YOU SO MUCH WOW.

Itunes would work too if this ever fails.

Thank you guys so much. 5 minutes saved me a bunch of cash there…I can’t say thank you enough. Thanks lol.

iTunes… winamp… ffmpeg if you like Linux.

I use a little program called Switch. Works like a charm.

Unless you still have the wav’s your screwed on the things you’ve already converted to 128 though. You can’t go back up to 320.

The old audacity can also do 320. Just look for export settings in the Preferences pane. Default is 128 but you can switch it to 320.

+1

Its the best one. Lets you export as many files as you want to pretty much any desired format.
Get it. Now. (the free version of course :stuck_out_tongue:)

here you dude go here Convert Audio Files To/From All Audio Formats. PC/Mac Audio Converter

download for free .. you can convert to whatever mp3 bit rate you need .. it says it is a trial mine is still working nearly 3 months later tho ..

itunes + 1

i find it strange ableton only exports .WAV and QuickTime format but I use FL Studio to convert my .WAV’s to .MP3’s, & FL does a few other things as well
