Anyone DJ/mix grime?

Anyone DJ/mix grime?

Anyone DJ or into there grime? It’s been around for ages but only recently been played out in the club scene more and more.

I fancy recording a grime/dubstep mix, anyone want to go b2b? I don’t have that much grime at the moment but am gradually building my collection.

Thought there’d be a few!

I love grime, but i can’t stand most dubstep.
I played some Boy Better Know at my show last night, and it went over huge.

Grime? is that the official genre? where would I pick some up?

Yea man, UK Grime.

Trouble & Bass crew have started playing a lot of grime out in the past 6 months, guess its not big at all in the US (yet).

New P Money tune:

i’m definitely down for a dubstep/grime b2b

Sweet, how’d you want to do it? Hour long or 30 mins? I really want to get as many tracks in as possible.

3 songs each?

hour, most definitely. especially if we’re doing 3 each. which you think would be better to start off, dubstep or grime? i’m pumped on this man!

I have some pretty good chilled grime we could start on, just build it up as it goes along so its banging at the end.

I normally try and fit 20 or so tracks in an hour, grime tracks tend to be pretty short though so could aim for more.

Dubstep’s the shit! It’s definitely slowly making its way in the US. I first heard Chase N Status. Great music… I’d like to know how they make that warbling grimey bass line that’s so synonymous with grime.

sounds good man, PM me the link when you get the first part of the mix done/uploaded so we can get this on the road :sunglasses:

Be sure to start a thread on the Mixes forum for the organization and everything.

Wobbley bassline is all about varying the LFO rate on the bass synth  great fun to play with.. it’s essentially the same as in dubstep (hence where dubstep originated from..) and in electro, particularly the new fusion called ‘crack house’ developing in the UK. I fucking love being british sometimes..

If any of you guys are into grime and haven’t heard UK funky or crack house, you need to give it a go, some of it’s really decent. mixes really well!

on that note.. i’m currently reliving my vinyl (old school) collection, listening to barry white over a bottle of wine with a buddy at 2am. literally unbeatable… :open_mouth:
