Anyone ever bought off antifmp3.net?

Anyone ever bought off antifmp3.net?

Earlier on I was browsing through the website Newmixes.com to catch up on all the latest essential mixes I have missed out on. It seems they have gone bust but started up a new site Antifmp3 to upload the essential mixes onto. But it looks like they also sell legal, sometimes high quality mp3’s.

At first I was like hey cool another site to buy tunes off, but then I saw the prices they are charging. Take for example the recent What You Need EP by Tiga, charged at around $9 on PIAS recordings (Here)

I found the exact same EP, at 320kbps, on Antifmp3…for $0.60. Yes that’s 60 cents. Have a look!!That’s when my brain started thinking something is up here. There is no way they are able to sell the full EP, at 320, for THAT price!

Has anyone ever bought for them before, or know people who have or have any clue as to why it could possibly be so cheap?! I have a feeling there has to be a catch here. The crap quality previews and dodgy album art isn’t exactly re-assuring.

Oh and just to apply a comparison to a song everyone has heard of (much as I hate it)…
B.E.P - Boom Boom Pow
Amazon.com - $0.99. That’s for just the radio version of the single. ONE track.
Antifmp3.net - $1.05. For SEVEN tracks, including two accapellas, versions with intros, instrumentals and clean radio edits.

It has to be too good to be true!

probably is.

It just seems wrong or something doesn’t it?!

yeah, sounds sketchier than the time i almost bought 2 cdj-1000’s and a djm-900 off ebay for $500USD from a guy in beijing.

maybe try it? worst case you lost 60 cents :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s illegal. Run by the same guys that do antifmradio…

if you go through their T’s and C’s it’s a russian distribution

The T&C’s seem standard enough to my eyes, care to enlighten me? Ok actually what is with this last bit!

‘The Administration does not give you any guarantee that you will profit or benefit by the use of the Services. You agree NOT to appeal to the Administration on account of the quality of the Services provided, as well as on account of any possible damage you experience as a result of use of or access to antifmp3.net Services.’

I think I’ll pass on those tracks actually, thanks…

this is what i found from whois

From the FAQ
Is it legal to download music from antifmp3.net?

Our new members often ask us is it legal to download digital content from antifmp3.net. And the answer is “Definitely Yes. It is completely legal to download music from our site.”

In accordance to the licenses’ terms antifmp3.net Inc pays license fees for all materials downloaded from the site subject to the Law of the Russian Federation “On Copyright and Related Rights”. All these materials are solely for personal use. Any further distribution, resale or broadcasting are prohibited.
It’s the Law of the Russian Federation… which I believe makes it illegal

Wow if only everything were this clear cut.. I’m so reassured by your “definitely yes.” It’s the same deal as websites that’ll let you download whole albums for like $0.89. Plus, do you really wanna put your credit/debit card info into some random website? Maybe I’m old fashioned…

I was looking at a similar site to this a couple of months ago and did some research. Apparently it is legal for these sites to operate out of Russia. The problem is the tracks are not being sourced directly from labels, so pretty much anyone can start one of these websites in Russia and put up there own personal music collection for sale…hence the varying bitrates (they will throw up whatever they find)

So my biggest issue is that no money makes it back to any of the artists. I have also heard of tracks being for sale on here when they were released for free by the artist. For example Steve Angelo - Che Flute was for sale on this other site (the name slips my mind at the moment)

Personally I would steer clear, eventually the sites will probably be shut down and the people running them will be left with nothing..except your credit card details!

Yeah. A friend of mine told me once “Dude, you can get ANTHING and it’s only $1.00 an album.”

Well, if I’m going to pay for stolen shit I might as well get it for free.

I agree, I think as an artist having tracks on there would be more of a kick in the face than having them available for free on speedyshare.

I wouldn’t want some dodgy Russian profiting off my work when I’m not

Dvls is right
you can dowload from there

but im closing the shop soon
agreement reasons between me and the host client

i will be directing traffic to here

www.antifmp3.com

since newmixes isnt keeping up with its promise to its members
i created a diff site that would
antifmp3.net as a webstore will soon be gone

all this is to direct listner traffic to our streams at www.antifmradio.com

So wait, are you saying that the mp3’s are illegal yeah? Just want to clear things up a bit!

While I loved newmixes.com and it’s a pity you’ve had to stop that site, I really disagree with the way you’re trying to sell these tracks at such cost prices on an apparently illegal basis. Please just go back to the old newmixes format and keep providing us all with free dj mixes.

think you miss understood me JAC

i dont own newmixes
i recently was helping them with a paypal account
long story
there was a death this past newyears with one of the partners of that site newmixes

so i stepped in to try and help out

well things were fine til about 3 months ago
they stopped answering my emails
new members who donate to the site werent getting replies from the owner
and meanwhile everyone is emailing me (just a regular member of the site)
asking why they cant log in and use downloading whatever ma callits to download multiple files at once or whatever they get for donating and logging in

well i have been sending the messages and for the past 3 months
no replies, no activity and from what everyone sees
no NEW MIXES being added

i got tired of the people getting the run around and no answers so i took one of the domains i own

www.antifmp3.com (Thisis the DOT COM )
it had nothing on it
i created a blog style site and started placing djs mixes on it
same type youd find on newmixes
but where they stopped i picked up

Im even creating an archive of mixes from 2005 right now

Anyway, each time someone donates to newmixes
i get a copy of the paypal transaction
and so did theowner until i took him off as a recipient
now i get the only notice
and i tell people to goto www.antifmp3.com since their donation will be used to support the cost of that site instead

this way they still get somthing for their few bucks
and they dont have to worry about donating to a site that seems like its going to dissappear tomorrow

now as for www.antifmp3.net (This is the DOT NET WEbstore)
i had a webstore a long time ago for VINYL records
closed the street location
keep the online one up for a bit and closed it

it was still getting trafic so
i went into an agreement with the suppliers of the content currently for the music downloads you see now
the tracks for like 15 cents and all that stuff

i have seen the documentation and yes it shows that starting several years ago
their policy shows that they HAVE To submit a specific flat rate amount monthly to ASCAP, BMI, and some other group i cant remember right now

no matter how much they sell
they pay out that bottom rate
then they also pay a percentage of all sales above that

As for the content of antifmp3.net (webstore)
i dont have access to it, its supplied by the guys who own the hosting account

simply put

i own the domain name and let them use it siince i created so much traffic on it
it was easy for them to make sals

meanwhile i can let them continue to grow the traffic
and when something goes wrong(like now)
or i decided i dont want htem to use it anymore
i can shut down their store through that domain name
and point the traffic to anything else i own

www.antifmp3.com (Dj Mixes Download Site)
www.antifmp3.net (Webstore closing soon)
www.newmixes.com ( Dont bother with them since they are not updating )
www.antifmradio.com
(My main site, broadcasting music 24-7 and accepting more djs to the roster)
You can download djs mixes there also but its ONLY the djs mixes that play on the radio station because these djs are on our roster and accepted the terms

theres a number of other domains we own but these are the main ones that direct traffic to our djs to be heard via the radio stream

hope that clears it up

Sorry man, I’m still not fully sure what you’re saying here. Are you stating that the mp3’s for sale on www.antifmp3.net are LEGAL or ILLEGAL?
I have a hard time accepting how they could be legal at such low prices, as do other people on this site. I’m not trying to knock you in any way personally, I was just hoping you could clarify this before people spend money on that site and get nothing for it.

Thanks!

yes they are legal
the price is so low because they being in russia follow different laws for selling and who they payback and how much they pay
so the price comes down

but at this point i would say
DONT join the online store because im going to be shutting down access to the domain shortly

They are legal in Russia.

the problem is that the artists get no compensation.

Hence making them illegal in the US.

this is one of those avenues where the law has not caught up with the reality, and, well, this is one of the very few areas where I agree with the RIAA.

This thread is going nowhere other than giving this crappy site more advertising - locking it.
