Anyone ever made a technics 1210 clock?

has anyone ever done this or attempted to do this?

i know it would be an expensive clock but i think it would be pritty god dam coool think i might give it a bash :slight_smile:

Might be a good idea with some of the replica technics sound lab belt drives a can of spray paint and some technics decals though ?

Have fun hanging a 30 lb Technics 1200 like a clock

Instead of wasting an entire 1200 to make a huge ugly clock you could make a nicer looking minimal one using only the platter. Find a comparable size clock to mod into the back of it and just have the hands sticking through.

I would entertain this with a left over deck plate. Think about it. Just use the deck plate, mount a gutted tonearm and buttons, pop up light, its so very doable. DO IT!! Then give it to me!

The 1200 is an endangered species. We must do all we can to protect it for future generations…

I have an old 1200 with the motor shot up this thread gave me an idea lol could work just rip out the insides take the feet off pop one of those clock things through the spindle hole

mind you be better if the platter worked spin on the seconds :stuck_out_tongue:

I have clocks made out of vinyl records. Much easier to hang on the wall…

Those Deck-tics are nice though. Tempted to buy one but they seem a bit small to be practical.

technics still make the 1210 mark 5 so it aint going away, they have just decided to only sell the more expensive ones

Nothing wrong with the idea if your using a totally busted up technics, otherwise its majorly wasteful
