Anyone trying to download iOS 5?
My god its slow, iv been trying to download this since 6pm. Over two hours of waiting! Aaaargh!
Anyone else having the same problem?

Long process it seems. I’m sure hundreds of thousand of others doing it about now too doesn’t help.
Not surprising. Thankfully it’ll be preloaded on my new 4S which I’m picking up on friday morning 
I just downloaded the whole thing in under 20 mins. I’m also in the US I’m not sure where you guys are that could be making a difference.

Probably do it when everyone in UK has gone to bed. Although ive just set it off updating iTunes so we will see.
Nope… Not in any rush. Will probably be weeks before I think to update.
15mins on the iPad update (700mb). I find it normal.
been using the GM dev, took about 10+ min…works great.
the first time it took me awhile and then i stopped and retried and got it in 20 miins…just keep trying
“phone can not be restored…” 
DL’ing at the moment, anyone had any problems? Should I give it a miss till 5.0.1 or .2?
Back Up your iPhone 3Gs guys… Mine just got wiped by the install and is now restoring.
Lost nothing i didnt already have backed up but its a drag all the same.
is it jail breakable yet?

well, this is so far unsuccessful. I keep getting internal error messages when trying “preparing the iphone for update”, and sometimes unable to verify software.

Mine said “cannot be restored” but when you return to the Overview window in iTunes it gives you the choice to restore the phone.
Its taking ages and has rebooted the phone about 4 times.
It said my contacts and texts would be restored. I doubt the photos will be there (mostly backed up) but i will lose some, unfortunatlely i havent synced the phone in a few weeks so ill lose a bit of stuff including my iMaschine projects (apart from one), this is unless i synced and i cannot remember doing it. I dont have auto sync on.
Watching the blue progress bar on the other mac from across the room is not much fun.
On a different but related subject, I just updated to OSX 10.7.2. It’s killed my black menu bar but not much else. Looking forward to seeing what iCloud can do for me.
Yeah im looking forward to seeing how iCloud will have screwed up my MobileMe account.
Purposely not upgrading my MacMini in case iOS5 has borked my Mac Mail cus my whole f*cking world is in that account.
iTunes update, OSX update, iOS5 update all in one go was not a smart move.
