Anyone use the Smithson Martin Emulator Software?

I am thinking of trying it out with an HP Touchsmart tablet and my S4. I would use Emulator to take care of non-latency critical jobs like browsing and well, whatever else. I plan on getting the trial download but wanted to see if anyone had any real experience with it?

I have two lenovo m90z’s in my restaurant.

I was very tempted to try the software out on it, the m90z is a very large multi-touch interface.

In the end I realised that after my ventures onto ipad + touchosc etc that it is largely the same but bigger. My one gripe with these touch interfaces is lack of tactile control. Moving a virtual knob with your fingers is not very fun for me. It is also hard to be accurate and fast I found.

So tldr version, it is like a big version of touchosc, lack of tactile feedback its main downer.

use virtual faders instead of knobs. colour-code them so that you can distinguish knobs-turned-faders from what was a fader to a begin with, if you cant just remember it. I think it much more useful than virtual knobs, plus you can jump between values.

Initial impressions..not impressed.

If you are use to using touch screens, then go for it.
The only thing I would suggest is a large screen.
Nothing smaller than 20".
Mine is 23" and the Emulator software works great!
Make sure to check their screen compatibility list too!

You can test it as a demo first before you buy to make
sure your screen will work the way you want it to.
