Anyone use windows with there S4? thinking of doing it?

Hi all, Im slowly starting to upgrade all my old technology, An would like to possibly jump back to using windows. The only reason I have not is becuase I hear all these scare storys about windows and traktor etc.

Looking at getting this computer

spec wise.

Also will this be fine if i made the jump to playing out?

Goddamn Mac Trolls scaring off the kids again.. rollseyes That is a great laptop for using Traktor and S4. You shouldnt have problems as long as you take the necessary precautions (disable wi fi, bluetooth) and other things youll find here. theres a bunch of topics on how to get the best out of your pc’s performance here.

Yes. ASUS N61Jv worked FLAWLESSLY from day 1. Do the performance tweaks in the stickys’ above. Smi777en’s advice is inavaluable.

Yeh, ive been worried about this, ive been looking at getting that laptop for my djing too, amazing deal. But what about reliability, I mean what if you turn your laptop on and the boot has corrupted (has happened alot to me) :disappointed:

I use my S4 with Traktor 2 on a VAIO Win 7 (core i3) and I have never got a problem.

I only use this computer for DJing (no internet connexion), like that, no virus !

I use a Dell xps 16 with no issues.

I have a Toughbook with a Core 2 Duo/4GBs and it runs TSP2 just fine. Timecode or S4.

Your laptop blows mine away in specs.

None of the Windows PC’s that I’ve ever owned have done that.

i run tp2 with s4+midifighter on an “old” asus laptop and works just flawlessly.
Just use a dedicated partition for DJing

Nope - Native Instruments just released a statement retracting Windows support for all Traktor based products. Such a shame. I’m now going to have to sell my setup.
