APC 40 Traktor 2.5 Mapping Issue - Dumb Mode Ineffective

APC 40 Traktor 2.5 Mapping Issue - Dumb Mode Ineffective

Terribly sorry to make this probably overdone thread, but I’ve looked through all the APC 40 mapping threads here and came up empty on this issue.

Recently got an APC 40 and decided it might be nice to have mapped to Traktor as a very portable alternative for small, chill gatherings. I read up on how it needed to be placed in the “Dumb Mode” in order to do this and performed this procedure but, alas, there is no MIDI signal being picked up by Traktor while in the mode, making mapping impossible with learn. Really don’t want to go down the route of figuring out the CC and Notes on the APC and mapping manually so I’m hoping someone has encountered this issue and has a solution.

By the way, I am wanting to just create my own mapping from the ground up - as such, I don’t have any .tsi file to import and am just starting by adding a new Generic MIDI Map on the Controller Manager. Hopefully that helps.

Thank you for any advice - it is very appreciated!

I’ve got my APC mapped to Traktor in smart mode.

Tried Smart Mode (initial power up of APC and nothing else) but still no midi response and thus no MIDI learning. Any specific tricks that allowed you to do this?

Solution Found; was lazy and didn’t have my mixer (which is my external soundcard) plugged in when trying to map so it apparently would pick up any MIDI signals without the sound card. Connected my Audio 4 and Traktor is receiving MIDI input from the APC 40 in Smart Mode. Sorry to waste anybody’s time with my stupidity.
