APC40 Internals … considering a mod :smiley:

Anyone got any photos ?

considering an internal USB hub & Soundcard mod for my one where I’d be utilizing the foot pedal jacks as i/o’s and adding a front 1/4’ for headphones.

Already have a hub to to use, although everything of course is based on having enough space.

Reason for modding: Less to plug in and, well because :stuck_out_tongue:

Question though, any recommendations for shielding the sound card ?

And yes I know I could take mine apart … but its not with me right now

Cheers, yep had a peek at it, looks like there’s probably enough space in there… guess I’ll wait till I’m back with mine and pull it apart.

Any thoughts on shielding ? … seen a few peeps modding their internal sound cards with art board + foil … or foil+foam, reckon it’d do the trick ?

Damn…this is NEEDED!

Its horrible having to plug the APC80 in…HUGE mission.

I think i need to consider this too.

For the APC80, I’m guessing just the hub would do the trick for starters and just a case of resoldering the USB connectors for the APC’s to 2 or the usb ports on the hub board directly.

I’m guessing its possible to put a powered hub inside the APC80 and connect a single PSU if you use a 5amp PSU (instead of 2x2amp) and 7ohm resistor going to the hub, which “I think” gives you 5v @ 1amp for hub powering to plug in other gear, shouldn’t be too difficult.

** edit ***sourcing the PSU might be difficult perhaps edit

CCTV cameras use 12v 5amp :smiley: @ around $20 or less a piece.
