Are MF Twister encoders dented?
Can’t found information on this, are they dented?
Thanks!

So when unselected they are smooth?
There is no physical detent, only a larger region where the output will be set to middle value and the middle Led in the ring will change colour.
It feels like a pretty good attempt at a detent, I prefer it in many ways to an actual physical one.
Hope that helps.
I’ve always thought that DETENTED means a series of clicks when you turn an (“clicky”) encoder, and DENTED means the physical STOP at 12 ‘o’ clock on a NON-DETENTED encoder (like on a mixers EQ).
But - I HAVE been known to be wrong in the past, fellas…
I’ve always used detent to refer to any points where it clicks into place. So EQ pots tend to have a centre detent and the NI encoders have 30 (I think).
The Twister encoders can be set to mimic the centre detent only.
Ok. Now it is more clear.
Thanks!
