I can spend more time posing and less time working??? Lame
???
I know at least 10 programs that do exactly this…so what is the problem ?
If a dj can’t compete with an auto-mix program that works with (on the fly or predefined) playlists, he or she is doing it wrong.
I guess this is for cars? Am I right?
Real DJs mix while they drive instead of having software do it for them.
+1
Call me crazy but I wouldn’t mind having my favorite new tracks mixed for me. Having them mixed right away means I don’t have to skip through the boring long intro / outro drums. Whatever; I’m certainly not going to buy one, but i’m not really upset by this whole thing. And before someone says something, I don’t have time to record a mix every time I get five new tracks I really like.
My point to the whole thing was that it’s becoming so mainstream and everyone (maybe just around where I live?) and their mom is a DJ, that this is what it’s coming to. I myself am relatively new to the entire scene but I feel like it’s more of a novelty rather then doing it for the love of music. Also I love hearing mixes with tracks i’ve never heard before - especially those tracks that you actually have to dig around Sound Cloud and what not for. Don’t get me wrong, I also play tracks from the Beatport top 100 but I love finding tracks and playing tracks that are not up there.
Edit: The whole point is to take the listener on a journey. Not fucking just … idk.
Novelties wear off fast and again, nothing new here…
The dj-gimmick is running for a long time now and cheap gear & gizmo’s have attracted the masses.
This was not the case when you had to invest in 2 expensive SL’s, a mixer, cans and loads of vinyl before you could start spinning.
Is that a bad thing ?
I don’t think so, dj-ing should be for everyone that enjoys music and wants to do creative stuff with it.
It should not matter what gear you use, what clothes you wear, how old you are or how much cash is in you bank account…
Dj’s are not special / elite / better then the rest.
Wut? Mixing tracks is the most enjoyable part about Dj’ing even as a bedroom DJ. It feels so rewarding to make 2 tracks blend seamlessly together to form a complete new track.
So why the hell do I need a computer program to do it for me!!!
Mixing is what makes what I do FUN!
If a piece of software mixing is on par with yours you need to step up your game ![]()
The whole point is… I feel like DJ’ing is a misunderstood art form.
Well thanks to mainstream media it looks like being a superstar DJ is the new thing.
But I love this art and the only people who stick around will be the ones who understand how precious and rewarding this truly is when you can express you’re self in such a unique way.
qft.
I agree for the most part. Some people understand it though. My friend recently had a little get together where there was turntables and a mixer. I ended up DJing for quite a while and of course a bunch of girls were like do this play this blah blah blah. So I just told a few of them to play it themselves. Needless to say, after a few minutes of attempting to ‘mix,’ they had a new respect for the art.
OP - to clarify my previous comment, this is aimed at the car audio market. If you can mix while you drive, more power to you. Aside from that, the material makes it look just like the auto-crossfade/cruise BS that’s been in iTunes/Traktor for years, with MAYBE an echo freeze or something thrown over the top. I can just about guarantee it’s going to sound JUST as mediocre as those, but with a higher price tag 'cause… Pioneer.
TL;DR - I ain’t mad at it.
Umm…did anyone listen to it? I’m not sure I would use the feature even if I wanted to hear music mixed while driving. It’s awful.
Tell that to Garry Kasparov…
LOL 16 bars, slide the crossfade over.. SICK MIX IN
