but since when do cats ever play with the stuff u buy for them - they’d always much rather play with your stuff

yup! i once bought this kind of “cat house, sleep thing” with a scratching pole on top. one of my cats looked at me in a kind of “wtf is this? really? you expect me to go anywhere near it? use it yourself if you like it so much…” or maybe i just read too much into their expressions 
buying this for your cat is only asking it to destroy any records you leave on an uncovered turntable..!
