Aturia SparkLE or MPC Studio?! Can either control external synths also?

The MPC will…
Spark is more a standard drum machine and the MPC is full sequencer, but honestly I’d would suggest getting Maschine before getting the MPC Studio, unless you’ve owned an MPC before (and want to sequence mainly using the small LCD) or just need a super thin controller.
The Maschine sequencer is based on the MPC workflow, they have more in common than different. yet Maschine is more mature and refined than the Akai. The Maschine stock library is also way better…it’s like a Native Instruments’ greatest hits. On top of that, the sound design on the additional libraries IMO are almost too good…feels like cheating sometimes.
The full Maschine controller has 5-pin MIDI DINs on the back, where on the MPC Studio you have to use some 1/8"-to-midi dongle.
Also, (since this is DJTechTools), the Maschine controller is more flexible since works great (out of the box) as a midi controller for Traktor and Ableton. The mappings are already included and you can flip between midi mode and native Maschine software control on the fly.
