Audio 8 Sound Quality Upgrade Hack
I was on twitter today and saw this convo I wonder what Carl Craig did to upgrade the sound quality any ideas?
If it’s real, I doubt he did it himself. Maybe NI did him a special edition.

you can alter/mod the output a little bit. It’s done on the analog part, right after the DAC.
Most common mod: You can use
better specs Operational amplifier (better slew rate, etc ec)
better capacitor (type) & change their value to have better spectrum response.
all subjective though… like most “yeah it sounds better because …” thing 
Better or coloured… who knows…
more than likely just new op-amps…
or put an apple logo on it, suddenly people think it sounds better

was watching this video on how they showed people the iphone 4 (but telling them that its the iphone 5) and they say funny stuff like “oh wow the screen is so much sharper” or “its a lot faster” lol lol even though its the same phone
i want this unicorn Superior Audio 8, maybe he’ll trade for an OG audio 8

I couldn’t think of a scenario where the biggest bottleneck in your soundsystem is the soundcard.
Sounds like he’s just show offing.
Maybe it’s a pioneer style upgrade - they painted it white.
S4 is 24 bit 96/KHz, and it doesnt sound as good as either my A4 or A8.
would assume that the DAs were changed to lower the SNR - better THD+N figures mean there is less noise being ampllfied in the background of the audio by the PA. Can hear this difference in higher end soundcards and DACs
