Awkward teenage music - your recollections

an odd theme I cam across for a party was “Teenage awkwardness and angst” and was going to be like a prom for adults. I know many users here are older than me and likely have a better idea of what awkward prom music from about a decade ago was and I also just wanted to ask:
what kind of music in your heart reminds you of the awkward and angsty teenage years?

Get Low- Lil John and the Easyside Boys is the only song that reminds me of prom for some reason. lol

hahaha oh man. almost every eurodance/rave/pop song from the 90s!
since i´m just alowed to post 1 video, i just embedded. maybe this is useful.

i could go on and on… every tune gives me an awkward but somehow a nice feeling

Anything Nickleback is super awkward…

I’m All Out Of Love. Air Supply
Slow dancing and trying not to get wood hahahaha

Wheatus… Teenage dirtbag

Anything from the sound tracks of any 80’s “Brat Pack” movie.

Used to be obsessed with scouse house, and now I get somewhat embarrassed when I tell people I used to frequent the pleasure rooms. I think I still have a load of old scouse house CDs upstairs somewhere

“Put a donk on it”

Buying (and listening to) ‘Baker Street’ by Gerry Rafferty (on 7" vinyl aka ‘seven single’ format) because a babe said it was a good song. Then she dumped me.

(:open_mouth: maybe THAT’S why I center my posts :open_mouth:)

We didn’t really do ‘proms’ at my high school, but all this is making me think of primary school discos which in my mind I always associate with superman by black lace.

limp bizkit…and any sean paul at sweet 16s

 hell I’m old - for me “Superman” has an “O” and means Laurie Anderson

oh man…i remember the most of them :expressionless:

Actually all it means is that you aren’t familiar with Black Lace (lucky you). There’s only a couple of years between the release of both records.

this man, is my everyday anthem before going to school when i was a teenager :stuck_out_tongue:

and another one, Sugar Ray - Falls Apart

Limp Bizkit :disappointed: Though I did redeem myself by discovering (then) underground hip-hop.
