if youre setting up a gig with thousands of wires over 100ft and have so many color coding won’t work why not put a barcode on each side of the wires so you can scan them with your phone and it will tell you which wire is which.
Numbering and using colors for groups is enough IMO. Having to take your phone out and take a pic is extra work and time in most of the setup scenarios.
As a sound tech… No. Big massive No.
I don’t want to scan 34 something cables before finding the correct one.
We got 6 different colors with 12 channels per color. Pretty simple, right?
If yellow 5 is broken, we replace yellow five instead of starting to scan cables to see which one is the broken one.
