basic mac operational question

basic mac operational question

so ive had my 1st mac now about 6 months, pretty cool i spose… my question is this: if i want to uninstall a program, do i just send it to the garbage? or is there an uninstall process like windows?

or if that question was too ez… maybe you can answer this:

im having an issue where ableton crashes intermittently but not unexpectedly :disappointed: when i load the Komplete Kontrol vst for the komplete keyboard.. sometimes it crashes ableton when i load certain instruments. not always, but it seems to be just 3 that crash it under certain circumstances. starting at the root i figure ill reinstall those 3, but have never uninstalled a vst plug in on mac and i have my sound libraries on a external drive.

what steps do i want to take to (k)completely remove any trace of these 3 and reinstall?

I use App Delete from here:

http://www.reggieashworth.com

You could just drag it from the applications folder, but it will leave remnants, so app delete is the thing to use if you want a fresh install.

There are other delete apps out there too which all do the same thing.

ill try that thank you

i use AppCleaner. works.

CleanMyMac2 is also good for unistalling and keeping you’re Mac in check.

yah i got the first suggestion… the reinstall didnt fix the problems…ive sent a ticket to NI.. guess ill have to live with it, since NI support is non existent any more… it wasnt that long ago you could actually CALL tech support on the phone.

NI puts files all over your computer.
