Basques set up.

Basques set up.

Ok, so here I’m new here.. and i must say, im amazed by the sheer size of most peoples set ups! Personally, ive never played a set or really noticed anyone around where i am using much more than a pair of CDJs/Technics and a mixer for the most part, so what i have to offer is very humble in comparison to what else is about on here!

Im currently running 2 technics sl-1200 mk5s, which i picke dup recently for an absolute bargain after using a pair of citronic pd-1s for a while.
The mixer (again, nothing compared to what i see on here!) is a numark dxm09 which i absolutely love.. lovely smooth crossfader for scratching and a ton of digital effects. The macbook is running traktor scratch pro, and i record my mixes using the output on the mixer and logic pro 9.

Im looking to get a midi fighter for triggering samples etc on traktor, and also a small midi keyboard and some pads for production! I did have an MPC 2000xl a while ago, but i had to sell it in times of low cash :disappointed:

I know its not much, but thats what comes of being 17 and not having a full time job! Its sure to get bigger.. so what would people say is a good thing to have as my next purchase?

p.s: Sorry the photos are all a bit artsy, theyre all taken for my blog, which you can follow here.

no thought of dicers?

i have considered it.. But will they actually do much that a midi fighter or any other midi pad controller cant do? It seems to make more sence to have something which i can use for production work too, although the dicers do look rather nice and handy.

hey you know what they say, “different strokes for different folks”

Paint much  .. As much as I dig you setup which resembles mine (@ Tech 1200s & a DJM 700), but admiring all the Montana paint, Ink & paint markers in the background

aha, thats just a fraction of it all. More ironlak really, such good stuff.

@JesusJuice actually, ive just been looking around at the dicers, and theyre quite reasonably priced, so i might get some if i can find some second hand for a good price.

ironlaks are boss! so you write too then i assume?

For sure. I used to a lot more, held back on the illegal shit once i got nicked though which was a shame. Still do occasionanal legal murals and stuff time to time though. I guess you do?

not anymore, they dont play out here in the states. i wish i could but i cant afford to get caught up

Yea I use to write also, but now i just keep it strictly legal..
