…more gabba!!
I seen beardyman in may. Easily the best performance i’ll ever witness.
What he does is out of this world. And he’s an amazing crowd controller.
dub fx is bettar!!!
that was very dope! More GABBER please!
dub fx is amazing, but this is a whole new level
edit: posting because this is the first time ive seen this guy
i like the THTC shirt. hemp clothing ftw
That is quite possibly the coolest thing I’ve seen in days
haha yeah right. not by a long shot.
Great great…
I think he’ll be the guy to headline the next MFC ![]()
would you have room for all his equipment?
Well whats it besides the KAOSS Pads?
Also you should’ve seen what Controlled Demolition brought this time.
i know there’s 4 kaoss pads, a mini kaossillator (think he’s added the pro version now?) occasionally a keyboard and some other stuff i can’t id.
can see the majority of it in this vid
I remember when i had serato and i was looking at the rane mixer this beardyman vid nearly closed it for me…
then i remembered i couldn’t beatbox…
Will be seeing this guy at a festival on NYE! Looking forward to it after seeing this… itd be pretty interesting
Can’t see the vids (as I’m at work) but if he’s got JFB on the decks with him - DAMN that guy is good. Saw him at an A/V thing in Bristol a couple of weeks back and at the Big Chill on Saturday. He was just a smidge good.
I like gypsy fish…
Comparing Dub fx to beardyman is like comparing to different genres of film or music. I love Dub Fx, he’s more of musician in the traditional sense, with albums, singles and concerts. But Beardyman is without a doubt the ultimate crowd entertainer, I’ve been following his career since he first used a single kaoss pad over four years ago and every time I’ve seen him since his sound is getting more polished.
Last month I saw him perform in a ramed 3000 capacity big top tent and the place went mentle, from the hour long show I recognised only 2 melodies he used in previous shows.
But the best thing I’ve seen him do to date was an evening he did with an Orchestra!
It was the first time anything like this had been done, and it was all free style with no written score what so ever. He sort of used the orchestra like a sample player, he made the sound of the instrument and then the real instrument copied his loop. The conductor had picture of a keyboard to which he pointed at which key’s he wanted sections of the orchestra to play in. Between Beardyman, the conductor and obviously the orchestra I witnessed an completely original performance that not even the artist’s have practiced!
Luckily for any Beardyman fans I captured around 50 mins of this one of show and stuck it on youtube, this is my best bit below. the footage is a bit dark but the audio came through pretty well. the vid starts off in beardys own brand of odd house but slowly evolves in to something quite beautiful.
I’ve noticed he does bring a bit of a different setup to every show I’ve seen him, for the show in vid above he had four KP3’s, Micro Korg synth, Roland RC 50 (foot pedal sampler), Roland multifx foot pedal and a few other toys. This reminds me I need to re upload part 3 and 6 of night!
For those who like this sort of stuff make sure you check out Tim Exile too!!
@Sherlock Ohms, I was in the keep it solid steel igloo at the Big Chill on sat too, JFB, Woody, Food and Dk blew me away that night, truly amazing REAL dj skills on display.
