Beatport re-download after a few months!

I bought a few track months ago, my HDD now went bye~bye~ so I wanted to re-download them.
The are now listed in the tab “completed downloads”, but I can’t download them.

Does it mean I have to re-buy them?

Usually they give you two tries with every track. I would check if you have or not, you may be in luck dude

Well…that sucks because I can click on the Download buttons for those songs (it’s greyed out).

Does anyone have a strategy to secure his bought tracks despite saving them on multiple drives?

did you write a support-ticket?
ive gone through your struggle already two times, and never had a problem restoring the tracks from beatport through the support.

beatport isnt that serious in concerning this problem, other than iT., where you can only restore your tracks once

put them on disc also so if the worst happens, you still have the tracks. I back up our stuff on a portable HD and on DVDs

well its not really their problem if your HD shits itself, is it?

Yeah but why limit the download-possibility in general?

I would find it more comfortable if a track could be downloaded anytime after buying it.

That’s one reason why I use Gmail instead of Outlook.
If I toss my HDD out of the window (or it fall from a height of 15"), np, because everything is online.

Ask them to re-download the tracks and they nicely will put it on your basket again, that’s what I did and it worked.

Yeh, I’ve had this problem.. some of the tracks aren’t transferable atall.. ie. now i’ve changed to mac, I had to re-purchase some of my favorites.. :disappointed:
Unfortunately, looks like you’ll have to rebuy yours completely. luckily for me, there were only one or two which were protected. I don’t know how theyr protected either, seems clever to me! can’t even burn them to CD

Other than than, beatport is my lifeblood

or follow the pepehouse strategy, I didn’t think of tht…

Thats the reason why these dumb protections had to go, before buying music from the internet could finally take off on its triumphal course.
Due to that the illegal-legal ratio is declining.

I just wrote to Beatport, but am positive now, due to your experiences.

What do you mean?

Having sold my own stuff (from my band) digitally, it really bugs me when people who get paid for playing other peoples’ songs (ie DJs) steal them and download them for free. Obviously you’re not one of them (otherwise you wouldnt pay £1.30 a track on BP), but there was a guy at the radio station I present on, telling me that ‘strictly speaking’ I could download music from youtube or where-ever and play it on air as long as it’s been released… I thought that was a bloody outrage to be honest! If the radio cant even pay the artists for playing their songs, who will!?

Sorry to pollute your nice thread with my political rant… :disappointed: i feel strongly about it! lol

I mean that more tracks are bought legally while less are downloaded illegally.

It really bugged me when a guy won the last DJ contest I took part in who downloaded all of his tracks from emule (and seemed to be proud of it).

Gosh..he even used Traktor 2, while I tested TPro for the first time live.

Your radio guy seemed to be equally ignorant.
